F1LapView v3.00 by René Smit, 7-Aug-2002 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This program is Freeware. Use at your own risk. Adding Files ------------ When you start up F1LapView, you'll see two empty panes. First, you have to add a few saved races or .GLx files so you have something to look at. Adding is done by selecting File|Add. The .GLx files can also contain computer cars (GP2Lap only). You can only add races from the same track (track checksum is compared). To use a different track you have to remove all drivers first by selecting File|New. Driver Pane ----------- The left pane shows the loaded drivers. Only human drivers are added, but there can be more than one in a saved game when it's a multiplayer game. The list shows the driver name, the session time at the end of the last lap (usually the race finishing time), number of laps completed, fastest lap, and the ID. Drivers are sorted on race order (leader at top). You can sort them on name by clicking on the name header. Click again to reverse sorting. You can also sort on time or fastest lap. The laps and ID columns can't be sorted (laps is also used in the race order). Selected drivers can be deleted by pressing the key. When all drivers are deleted you can add races from different tracks again. Each driver is assigned a colour when he's loaded. It's the same colour as is used in the graph in the time difference pane. Time Difference Pane -------------------- The right pane shows the time difference of each driver to the leader. The vertical axis is in time units, the horizontal axis is in distance units (laps). Pitstops are shown as thick vertical lines (car standing still). The zoom level on the vertical axis is set automatically. You can turn that off by toggling Options|Auto-zoom. Zooming in and out can be done manually with the + and - on the keypad. If there are horizontal white lines, it means a backmarker is lapped at least once (each lap down shows a line). The line represents a 'ghosted' leader as if he was driving in the same lap as the backmarker. With the context menu you can change two options: - Relative/absolute: In relative mode, all time differences are relative to the leader's time at each lap. In absolute mode the average lap time of the winner is taken and all lap times are compared to this time. This way, it's also possible to see the leader's ups and downs. - Origin at top/bottom: this lets you mirror the graph vertically.
