MGPPower v1.01 by René Smit, 20-Mar-1999 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This program is Freeware. Use at your own risk. The author does not accept any responsibility for anything that may happen to your system. It is not allowed to distribute this program in any way without permission of the author. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Power editor ------------ MGPPower is a power ('performance') editor for MGPRS2. This means that it can change the power of each individual car for each individual track in the game. The maximum power limit cannot be set above the game's default. The game also uses other factors to influence the car's behavior. These cannot be changed with this editor, so keep in mind that changing the power only does not mean that it reflects how fast the cars will be in the game. You need to adjust all the car's power settings and test them in the game until the relative differences between the cars are like you want them to be. You can also download working patches from Audun Petterson's MGPRS2 Performance page: http://home.sol.no/~aupetter/mgprs2/index.html Settings files -------------- The editor can load and save MGPRS2 Power Settings files. These files have a .mps extension and contain settings for all drivers for all tracks. User interface -------------- When you start the editor, it will try to find MGPRS2 and import all current settings from the game. It will also import names of teams and drivers, so these names are the same as you're using them in the game. Behind each driver name there's a scrollbar with which you can change his power. The range is from 0 to 1000. On the right side you can see some controls: - Track. Select for which track you want to edit the values. If you want to use the same values for all tracks, just use one track and in the end use the button "Copy to Other Tracks" to copy the settings to all other tracks. - Import. Pressing this button will import the settings for the current track from the game. - Export. This will export the settings for the current track to the game. - Import All Tracks. This will import the settings for all tracks from the game at once. When you start MGPPower this is done too. - Open. Will show a file dialog from which you can select a settings file. Loading it will overwrite all current settings for all tracks. - Save. Will save changed to a loaded settings file. - Save As. Will save all current settings to a new settings file. - Load Defaults. This will load the file defaults.mps, which contains the game's default settings (unless you changed the file). - Copy to Other Tracks. Copies settings for the current track to all other tracks, so that all tracks use the same power settings. - Linked Edit. Clicking on this tri-state checkbox will link each team's scrollbars together, so that when you drag a driver's scrollbar, it will drag the team mate's scrollbar along with it. Clicking a second time on it will link all scrollbars, so that you're able to add power to all drivers at once. Tips ---- If you ever want to restore the game to its defaults, copy all the .car files in datab/voitures from your CD. Exporting the default settings of the editor will still change the .car files a little bit. After you've edited the values and maybe saved your changes, don't forget to export the settings to the game if you want to test them. After you've exported your settings to the game, you will notice that the effects can be quite different for qualifying and for race. It is advised to have different qualify and race settings. You can change the settings during the game by making sure you've exported your changes before the track loading menu appears. If you only see names like Team 1 and Driver 1, you need to edit the names in the game or download a new name file (edp.bin) from internet.
